Sopore youth booked under PSA for alleged role in stone-pelting protests

A youth from Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) for allegedly participating in stone-pelting protests during 2016 unrest.
An official said that Reyaz Ahmad Dar (18) was booked under the PSA for stone-pelting and working on the directions of Hurriyat activists during 2016 unrest in Sopore town.
Dar, he said, was sent to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu yesterday.
He was arrested on September 9 from his maternal uncle’s home in Naseerabad area for participating in protests during 2016 unrest, said the official.
He was kept under detention in police station Sopore on various charges.
