Abdul Haq reviews Eid arrangements in Kupwara

Srinagar : Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq Khan today convened a meeting of Civil Administration at Kupwara to review the arrangements on the eve of upcoming holy festival of Eid.

District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Kumar Rajeev Rajan, SSP Kupwara, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, officers of Revenue, PHE, Health, Municipal Committee, CAPD, Rural Development and PDD attended the meeting.

The Minister directed the District Administration to provide all basic facilities including food grains, regular power supply and potable drinking water through water tanks to the people.

Directing the District Administration to involve the Job Card holders of Rural Development in sanitation drive, the Minister directed the Administration to launch sanitation drives in and around the places where Eid prayers are scheduled to be offered in the district. He also asked the authorities of Municipal Committees to strictly implement the ban on polythene in the district.

Haq also directed the Chief Medical Officer to make adequate arrangements with regard to availability of medical facilities whereever is required during the holy days of Ramzam and Eid.

While briefing the meeting, the DDC informed that all the arrangements with regard to regular drinking water supply, sanitation drive and proper healthcare facilities have been made available in the district. It was informed that six quintals of polythene products were seized by the Municipal Committees’ which were subsequently destroyed on the spot.  Checking squads have been constituted which are working under the supervision of concerned Tehsildars in their respective jurisdictions to enforce the ban on polythene, the meeting was informed.
