BARAMULLA: In connection with the election of Cooperative societies to be conducted tentatively on October 11, 2017, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements put in place for its smooth conduct.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Tehsildar Baramulla, District Audit Officer and other functionary of election department.
Pertinently, Managing Body will be elected through the election which will comprise of various office bearers for the proper and smooth functioning of the societies.
A thorough discussion regarding the appointment of Returning and Assistant Returning Officers, preparation of electoral rolls, establishment of polling staff and other necessary requirements was held during the meeting.
Moreover the DC emphasized upon the concerned to work with zeal so that the election is conducted on the scheduled date. He also sought cooperation among various departments involved in the election process and stressed for holding the election in a free and transparent manner.
