DC chairs Collectors’ land acquisition meet

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Ahmed Zargar, who is also District Collector of land acquisition, convened a joint meeting with revenue officers and executing agencies to approve and finalize the rates for land acquisition for construction of roads and other allied projects in the district.
In a meeting, held with land collectors of the district, six cases including two cases of land acquisition of Mendhar, two cases of Surnkote and two cases of Haveli Poonch, which were put up earlier, were approved after threadbare discussion.
DC also finalized rates for different chunk of land being acquired in different villages and also in the vicinity of Poonch.
It was informed that in Mendhar sub division for the construction of road under PMGSY from Basoni to Behrotee in village Dharati 63 Kanal and 18 marla of land would be acquired at the rate of RS. 1.50 lakh per kanal under cultivable Land and Rs. 1.20 lakh for un cultivable land. Besides, at village Ram-glluta land measuring 18 kanal and 19 marla same rates would be given, the meeting informed.
It was further informed that for construction of approach roads to Kalai bridge under GREF/BRO projects Rs.12 lakh per kanal including fifteen percent jabrana for the portion of land that comes for acquisition in village Chanduck side whereas, Rs.10 lakh per kanal including fifteen percent jabrana for the portion of land fallen in village Kalai side for the acquisition and completion of the major held up project Chanduck- Kalai bridge.
The DC instructed the collectors for immediate preparation of land documents for the completion of bridge and start of new road projects of PMGSY, PWD and other allied works.
Focusing on the importance of timely completion of different roads and other projects in the district , Zargar emphasized upon the officers to expedite the acquisition work without causing any inordinate delay thereby enabling the concerned agency to start the physical work on the site.
Deputy Commissioner further asked the officers to monitor all the ongoing development projects of the district and also establish liaison with local people so that any bottleneck and land related issues of the local people are resolved amicably.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Abdul Hamid, AC defense Rajouri Poonch range Quyuom Mir,ACR Poonch Ashraf Chowdhary,SDM Mendhar Rahual Kumar Yaduv, SDM Surnkote Dr.Bashrat Hussain Inqlabi, OC BRO Mr.Bania and other officials of the revenue department.
