DDC Anantnag reviews progress of AMRUT projects

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 09: The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Muhammad Younis Malik today chaired a meeting at Dak Bunglow, Khanabal to review the status of AMRUT implementation in the district.
Pertinent to mention that under AMRUT, storm water management, sewerage treatment, septage drainage system, multilevel parking, beautification, and augmentation of transportation infrastructure are the key components under AMRUT.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to devise a plan to segregate the discharge of sewerage and septage drainage systems so that STP at Mehandi Kadal is made efficient, durable and sustainable.
He called for channelizing the water from Sherbagh spring to Mehandi Kadal for which the concerned Urban Development Department officers were directed to prepare a DPR. Meanwhile, the Director UDD said that he will take measures for the development of pathways and beautification along the Sherbagh-Mehandi Kadal drainage axis.
The DDC also directed the concerned contractor for completing the truss work of the SRTC complex and internal finishing at an earliest.
With respect to drainage system from Batengoo to District Police Lines, the concerned engineer was directed to start the work on war-footing basis. Besides, the concerned engineer was directed to start the deep draining of Deva Colony on priority.
It was decided that pump sheds shall be installed at Deva Colony, Ganjiwara and Khanabal so that the backwaters during heavy rainfall can be dewatered on immediate basis.
It was informed that the work on multi-level parking at Jangalat Mandi has started, while as the work on Solid Waste Management Plant, Batengoo has been tendered out.
The meeting was attended by Director UDD, Exens of PHE, PDD, I&FC, UDD, Floriculture, Tehsildar Anantnag, District Floriculture Officer, and EOs of Municipalities.
