DDC reviews functioning of departments

Jammu | June 23 : District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Niraj Kumar today convened a meeting to review the functioning   of Forest, Sericulture, Floriculture, Animal Husbandry, ISM, Handloom and Handicrafts department.

The DDC stressed upon the Animal Husbandry Department to adopt innovative techniques to increase the production of milk, eggs, poultry and emphasized on setting up of Milk Cooperative Societies for the same.

The Sericulture Department was asked to put in more efforts to increase the production of cocoons.

Expressing concern over increase in soil erosion, DDC directed the officers of Forest and Soil conservation departments for taking up aforestation drive and asked them to increase plantations  in the nurseries.

The DDC directed the Floriculture department to take up plantation  in  the city park.

DDC also reviewed the working of Handloom and Handicrafts department and discussed in detail the targets and achievements for the current year.

He asked the concerned departments   to work in close coordination for better implementation of the schemes and welfare programmes.

The meeting was attended by CPO Udhampur, Rakesh Jamwal, DFOS and other officers.
