Govt committed to redress people’s problems: Kavinder

Speaker visits Sunjwan area, listen to people’s issues

JAMMU: The Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today said that the government is committed to ensure early redress of the problems being faced by the people and the necessary mechanism has already been put in place for this purpose.

The Speaker was interacting with the people of Nowabad area in Sunjwan.

The locals projected various demands seeking repair of roads and drains, upgrading of power and PHE infrastructure, besides better sanitation facilities.

Kavinder gave a patient hearing and assured to resolve their issues on priority adding that extending basic amenities to the people was the prime concern of the State government.

Kavinder said that good care is being taken to ensure that the developmental programmes are completed within the stipulated timeline so that the people get benefitted in time.

The Speaker said construction and upgrading of various water supply schemes are apace which would ensure adequate supply of water to every locality.

He said that several new initiatives have been undertaken in power sector. He assured that new electric poles would be installed in the Poly hill Estates at the earliest.

Referring to the developmental scenario of the Gandhi Nagar constituency, the Speaker said focused attention has been laid during the last two and a half years that each area gets its due. He said huge funds have been utilized on various developmental works under different sectors in the Constituency.
