International Youth Day’ held at Kashmir University

Srinagar, Aug 21 : The international youth day was held at the University of Kashmir on Monday.  It was organised by Red Ribbon Club of Department of Students Welfare in association with J&K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society.

 

A poster-making competition, collage competition and blood donation camp were organised to mark the day whose theme was ‘youth building peace’.

100 student volunteers participated in the blood donation camp while 80 students participated in the poster-making and collage competitions.

 

In his message, Vice-Chancellor Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi said such events lead to overall personality development of students and shall be held at the University campuses regularly.

 

Registrar Prof Khursheed A Butt, who was chief guest at the valedictory ceremony, said: “The peace that we are trying to find in the outside world is within us and once we start realizing this, we shall be at peace with ourselves and with others as well.”

Earlier, Dean School of Social Sciences Prof Asifa Jan inaugurated a day-long blood donation camp.
