Locals seek Governor’s intervention

Srinagar, July 27: The lone primary hospital at Kawari village of Kawari area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district is non-functional for years due to unknown reasons.

Reports reaching GNS said that a person namely Maqbool Ahmad Dar from the village had voluntarily provided land free of cost for the construction of the hospital in the area.

“The six-room building has been constructed five years ago but due to unknown reasons it has not been made functional,” the locals of the area said.

They said during any eventuality, the patient has to be taken five kilometers away for the first aid.

The locals have appealed the Governor-led administration to look into the matter and “investigate why despite the funds allotted by previous regimes to make the primary health centre in the village, the hospital is non-functional”. (GNS)
