RAJOURI, AUGUST 25: MLA Nowshera, Ravinder Raina convened a meeting of Education Department to review its functioning in Nowshera Sub-division, here today.
Among others, SDM Abdul Sattar, Chief Education Officer Lal Hussain, Tehsildar Mohammad Riyaz, ZEO and all Principals and Headmasters of the Zone Nowshera attended the meeting.
MLA directed the head of all the educational institutions to devise teaching plans and carry out teaching with a well knit strategy to impart quality education in the students.
He reiterated that government has prioritized education as prime focus with launch of numerous reformative measures in this regard. A discernible transformation is being witnessed in all parameters of education with a notable development in infrastructural edifice and related facilities in educational institutions of the state, he added.
He emphasized the need of involving all stakeholders including Village Level Education Committees, parents, teachers and officers of civil administration in further streamlining of this vital sector on which the onus of building a strong and developed nation lies.
He exhorted upon the concerned officers to ensure that all these centres of learning are equipped with enhanced basic facilities besides a good sports infrastructure to enable overall development of students.
He said that along with academic excellence students must also be prepared to face the impending challenges of today’s globalised era.
He stressed upon the importance of regular and effective monitoring of functioning of the schools especially in rural and hilly areas for better outcome and asked the SDM and Tehsildar Nowshera to closely monitor their functioning.
He stressed for preparing a mechanism for the students of the rural areas by which they can compete with students of urban areas. “There is a need of collective efforts and a well knit strategy to further add to the standards of curricular and extracurricular activities especially in rural areas”, he added.
Highlighting the importance of extra co-curricular activities in the educational institutions, MLA exhorted upon the heads of the institutions to organize quiz competitions, cultural programs, and general awareness initiatives besides ensuring celebration of annual day events in every institution as holding of such activities play a vital role in the overall personality development of the students and such occasions provide a platform to the talented students to exhibit their talent.
He asserted upon all the heads of the institutions to ensure utmost discipline and punctuality among the staff members and students besides paying heed towards maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the institutions of learning.
MLA announced that the meritorious students who will secure top 20 positions in the board examination would be felicitated with monetary awards at the end of the academic session.
The concerned head of the institutions apprised the meeting of several issues including scarcity of potable water, sanitation facilities, shortage of teaching staff upgradation of schools, transfer policy, repair of damaged schools besides school wise specific requirements.
