‘Govt committed to reach out people at their doorsteps’

UDHAMPUR: Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda today said that providing basic services at the doorsteps of people living in rural and far-flung areas is the prime objective of the present government.

Speaking at a public meeting at Jadsarkote today, the Minister urged all the district officers to go to the doorstep of the people and provide them the basic facilities. He said the main objective of holding the public meetings is to address the problems of the people within the shortest possible time. The Minister also emphasized upon the people of the area to avail full benefit of these public meetings by attending them in large number. He further directed the district officers of various departments to create mass awareness about the important schemes to enable maximum people to avail benefit.

While highlighting the achievements of the present Government, Nanda listed poverty elevation schemes including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, PMUY, BBBP, PMFBY  etc. being successfully run by the Government.

During the public meeting, the people of the area put forth demands for road connectivity from Sata morh to Basuni, rationalization of staff in Government schools, upgradation of Government Middle School Jadsarkote to High School , Installation of Mobile Network Tower at Jadsarkote, Opening of new ration depot in the area, establishment of a  Cutting and Tailoring Centre etc.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to the demands and problems of the people and directed the concerned officers to take necessary action for early redress of the same.

Later, the Minister held another public meeting at Jungle Gali and listened to the problems being faced by the people of the area.

Among others, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. K.C Dogra, Ex-En PHE Ashok Sharma, Ex-En REW Mehmood Ahmed, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar besides other officers and officials of different departments were present during the public meetings.’
