Playing New Zealand, the finallists of the 2015 ICC World Cup, India fell short by 18 runs despite a late spirited charge by Ravindra Jadeja.
Chasing 240 to win, the top-order was dismissed by the Trent Boult and co with Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma all falling for 1 each.
Jadeja stitched together a partnership of over 100 runs with MS Dhoni but as the asking rate increase, both batsmen fell looking for some big runs.
Eventually India fell short by 18 runs and exit the second straight World Cup in the semi-final. New Zealand now move to the final on Sunday where they will play the winner of the Australia vs England semi-final on Thursday.
