MUMBAI: Parthiv Patel completed 10,000 runs in First-Class cricket, during the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2017-18 contest between India Red and India Green, being played at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Parthiv Patel achieved the feat during his first-innings score of 17 while captaining India Greens. Before this contest, the left-handed batsman had played a total of 169 First-Class matches, scoring 9,995 runs with 25 centuries and 26 fifties at 44.22.
Having made his Test debut during India’s tour of England in 2002, Parthiv has so far played 23 Tests. His return to Test cricket in late 2016 marked the end of one of the longest gaps for any cricketer — of as many as eight years — between matches for his country.

While Wriddhiman Saha remained away nursing an injury, Parthiv displayed aggressive batsmanship but a few misses behind the wickets kept the former ahead in the reckoning.
Former cricketers such as Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Ajit Agarkar and Deep Dasgupta took to social media to congratulate Parthiv Patel on his achievement.
