SHOPIAN: Polling staff was ferried in chopper to polling stations for the most challenging phase and last phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in the Valley tomorrow.
The third phase of Anantnag parliamentary constituency slated to be held tomorrow in Shopian and Pulwama.
In Shopian, polling staff to 39 stations mostly located in Wachi assembly segment was airlifted to their destinations.
Sources told Kashmir Reader that the polling staff was airlifted to locations from district police lines in a chopper. They said that some of the staff members were called and told that they will be dropped to locations in a chopper.
District election officer Shopian, Owais Ahmad though said they can airlift polling staff to reach their destination but haven’t used it so far.
“We have an option in place to airlift the polling staff but we didn’t used that option. Once we use it we will confirm it to you”.
