Restrictions, detentions carried out to stop us from exposing NIA drama: Mirwaiz

Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday said that the authorities detained him and other separatist leaders to “stop us from exposing the NIA drama”.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Geelani were placed under house arrest while Yasin Malik was arrested and shifted to Central Jail Srinagar.

The leaders were scheduled to fly to New Delhi today to stage a sit-in outside NIA headquarter and court arrest there.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Muneer Khan said the leaders were detained “as they were mobilizing people to create law and problem”.
