SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 28: Minister for Revenue Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Abdul Rehman Veeri today asked officers to ensure basic facilities at migrant camps.
He said while reviewing functioning of Relief Organization here.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Revenue Muhammad Ashraf Mir, MD JKPCC Daleep Thusoo, Relief Commissioner ML Raina, Director planning Zahoor Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Relief Kuldeep Krishan Sidha, Chief Engineer UEED and other officials.
The Minister directed the officials to provide full cash assistance to the new born babies as well.
To ease out functioning of the organization, The Minister asked the officers to create Durga Nagar and Jagti as new zones for migrants.
Asking the officers to pace up the work on transitional accommodation, Veeri setup the deadline of November ending for the completion of 48 flats at Vessu and Sheikhpora.
He also asked the officials to pace up the construction of new flats at Purkoo besides boundary walling the entire camp. He also asked them to keep the provision of health center, shopping mall and a park in the DPR on the modern lines. The Minister also stressed on the officials to immediately start work on first phase of renovation and repair work on Jagti flats.
The Minister also impressed upon the officers to upgrade the system of their offices by adopting e-mode and computerization so that people are facilitated in a better manner
He also asked the officials to ensure safe drinking water facilities, health facilities, sanitation and timely availability of ration for the migrant families.
The Minister also directed to setup camps for smooth completion of Adhar completion, besides coordinating up with various departments for special camps of various employed related schemes.
While receiving an appraisal regarding the bifurcation of ration cards of migrant families, the Minister directed simplifying the process and ensuring time bound disposal of these cases after proper verification.
