New Delhi: The most popular instant messaging service ‘WhatsApp’ launched its voice calling feature to users worldwide in April last year. Though the feature was first introduced to WhatsApp users on Android but was later followed by iOS, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone.
The Facebook-owned WhatsApp on Thursday announced that users are making over 100 million calls daily using the app. It said, the numbers translate to over 1,100 calls a second.
‘For more than a year, people have used WhatsApp Calling to talk with friends and family around the world. It’s a great way to stay in touch, especially when connecting with people in other countries, or when messages alone won’t do,’ WhatsApp said in a blogpost.
‘Today, more than 100 million voice calls are made every day on WhatsApp – that’s over 1,100 calls a second,’ it added. WhatsApp has been adding many new features to make its platform both convenient and fun.
