JAMMU, AUGUST 24: After assuming charge of Commandant General Homeguards/Civil Defence & SDRF J&K, Dilbag Singh, visited SDRF 2nd Battallian Jammu here today.
During the visit, the Commandant General inspected the Battallian Quarter Guard and held an interactive session with officers, NGOs and different ranks of SDRF, Homeguards/ Civil Defence of District Jammu-Udhampur-Samba –Kathua and Central Training Institute Hgds Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
During the interaction, Rashmi Wazir, SSP Commandant SDRF 2nd Battallian Jammu highlighted the role of SDRF personnel during disasters. She informed that SDRF personnel undergoes various specialized courses inside and outside the State and their performance, during rescue operations, is always appreciated by the Police as well as district authorities.
During the event, the Jawans put forth their grievances to the Commandant General Hgds/CD and SDRF J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commandant General asked the Jawans to acquaint themselves with better skills and be professional in their approach while conducting various rescue operations. They should focus on their trainings to handle the high value rescue equipments.
The Commandant General threw light on the recommendations of Pay anomaly committee report recently submitted to PHQ J&K under his Chairmanship. He said the recommendations are under consideration with the higher authorities.
The Commandant General also witnessed live demonstrations of Search and Rescue Operations pertaining to Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR), Medical First Responder (MFR) and Mountaineering Training and Rescue.
