POONCH, SEPTEMBER 28; Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, other day visited Balakote sector to get first hand appraisal from the local inhabitants regarding damages/loss of life/ livestock due to cross border shelling in the affected area.
The DC was accompanied by SDM Mendhar Rahual K Yadav, SDPO Mendhar Rayaz Tantray and officials from different departments. He met with shelling affected people & get feedback on the loss of property, live stock etc.
The DC expressed hope that the situation would be brought under control soon. He also stayed at some shelling-affected areas till the frequency of firing incidents deescalated.
The DC asked the police and subdivision administration to remain on high alert to tackle the situation. He asked the officers to keep close eye on the situation and maintain close liaison with locals for tackling the situation in case of any eventuality.
