ASI, militant killed in Zakura shootout

Srinagar: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of police and top militant were killed at Zukura in outskirts of Srinagar, police sources told news agency GNS.

The top militant was hailing from Parimpora area of Srinagar and he had sustaining bullet wounds in the shootout around Friday afternoon.

A senior police officer told GNS that the militant identified as Mugees Ahmad Mir (28) alias Khitab, son of Abdul Aziz Mir, who hails from Parimpora and was active since many years, had sustained bullets but managed to escape from the spot at Zukura. “We have reports that he had made a call to his family. His body has reached his home and we have started further investigation,” they said.

The officer said that Mugees, 8th pass student has joined Hizbul Mujahideen outfit in April 8, 2016 and was presently affiliated with Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind led by Zakir Musa .

“Mugees was involved in case FIR number 216/2015 us 307,302,120B, 323 326 RPC 4/5 Explosive Act of PS Anantnag and FIR no 88/ 2017 us 395, 342,506 RPC, 16 ULA, 7/25  IA act”, the officer said.

Wreath laying ceremony held at DPL Srinagar

To pay homage to martyr police officer Shri Imran Tak, a wreath laying ceremony was held in DPL Srinagar, a police spokesman said.

Among the police officers who presented wreaths and flowers included IGP Kashmir Shri Munir Ahmad Khan, IGP Armed (Kashmir) Shri S. Ahfadul  Mujtaba, DIG CKR Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat, and a number of SsP & Commandants of armed/IR, DySsP and Jawans.

As has been reported earlier SI Imran Tak resident of Basantgarh, Udhampur lost his life in a terrorist attack at Gulabbagh, Srinagar.
