Today on 27.07.2018 District Police Samba arrested a Punjab based drug smuggler and recovered 12 kg of Poppy Straw from his possession.
In continuation to the efforts put forth by the District Police Samba in curbing the menace of the drugs from the society under the guidance of Sh. Anil Magotra, KPS SSP Samba, a Police Party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SI Bansi Lal, SHO Ghagwal under the close supervision of Sh. Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during surprise Naka at NHW Jatwal Morh near FCI store, signaled to stop a Tanker bearing registration No. PB11U/1479 coming from Kathua side. The driver and his associate on seeing the Police Party tried to escape from the spot by leaving the tanker a few meter away from the Naka Point. The alert cops chased them and succeeded in apprehending associate namely Randhir Singh S/o Ajeet Singh R/o Sahoor Kalain Tehsil Kalanoor District Gurdaspur, Punjab. During checking, 12 kg of Poppy Straw was recovered from his possession. In this regard a case FIR No. 106/2018 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act registered at PS Ghagwal and further investigation started to nab the driver.
