Police on Friday night foiled a weapon snatching bid by militants at the house of former National conference legislator in Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police official said that at around 10:00 pm militants attacked the guard post of former NC MLA Shangus Abdul Majid Mir at Achabal with an intention to loot weapons.
“ The sentries, however, retaliated the fire forcing the militants to flee,” he said.
He said that the area has been cordoned off and searches launched to nab the militants.
