DDC SHOPIAN REVIEWS HORTICULTURE SECTOR

Shopian Auguat 07: – District Development Commissioner Shopian, Owais Ahmed today convened a meeting to review progress and development under Horticulture sectors in the district.
Among others the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Agriculture Officer, and other concerned.
During the meeting threadbare discussion were held regarding different schemes of horticulture sector in the district.
On the occasion the DDC directed the concerned that the soil testing teams should be mobilized for the benefit of farmers. He asked the concerned officials to identify the land for water harvesting tanks so that people do not face any difficulties. He further directed the concerned that the production and demand of organic fertilizer and establish vermicompost units.
He also directed the officials of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and others to join the hands and work in cooperation to ensure better results in marketing, increase in agricultural and horticultural activities for providing a boost to the economy of the district.
