Sopore, Aug 16: The health department on Thursday sealed many illegal clinics at several locations in Sopore Town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The move comes days after the arrest of a fake doctor in north Kashmir’s Pattan area.

The raids were jointly conducted by health department officials in coordination with police and drug controller department.

An official in the health department told GNS that a team of officials headed by Chief Medical Officer Baramulla Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo and BMO Sopore Mohammad Sami sealed eight clinics in Sopore town on Thursday after they failed to furnish requisite documents.

He said the sealed establishments were unregistered and run by untrained persons. The action under law will be initiated against the owners of these clinics, he said.
