Based on a specific information about presence of militants,J&K Police and joint teams of Security Forces Army and CRPF launched a search operation in village Athoora of Police Station Kreeri,Baramulla.
While checking one of the suspected houses joint forces team was fired upon by militants triggering an encounter.
Despite giving numerous opportunities and making all efforts to motivate militants to surrender, they however indiscriminately fired upon security forces with their automatic fire arm weapons.
In the exchange of gunfire two militants got killed whose identity is yet to be ascertained. One AK serie rifle and one Insas rifle and other arms and ammunition was recovered from the possession of killed militants and from the site of encounter.
FIR has been registered in the instant case and investigation has been taken up.
