Kupwara Nov 13: two women from Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) has been elected uncontested as Sarpanchs in Khumriyal, and prangroo Mawer areas of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Arifa Begum (35) and Dilshada bagum had come to this part of Kashmir along with her husbands Ghulam Mohammad Mir and Mohd yousf bhat via Nepal in 2010. Arifa, & Dilshada originally a residents of Pakistan had submitted her nomination papers for Sarpanchs in Khumriyal-B and prangroo Mawer in the Kupwara district.
Reportly There were no nominations against Arifa and as such has been declared elected unopposed for both Panch and Sarpanch wards, an official from the district administration said.
However in prangroo Mawer area of block Qalamabad one local lady was fill up the nomination form against pak woman Dilshada but later she withdraw.
