JAMMU AND KASHMIR REPUBLIC DAY CONTINGENT CALLS ON GOVERNOR
Jammu: 26 December 2018 Major General NK Airy, Additional Director General, NCC J&K called on the Hon’ble Governor Shri Satyapal Malik today in the afternoon at Raj Bhawan. During the interaction with Hon’ble Governor Major Gen NK Airy discussed various issues with respect to NCC coverage in the State of J&K and apprised him about the preparations of State NCC Contingent participating in the Inter Directorate Republic Day Competitions in Delhi from 31 Dec 2018 to 29 Jan 2019. 109 NCC Cadets who are students of various educational institutions of the State have finally been selected to be part of Republic Day Camp contingent after undergoing a grueling selection process over a period of 30 days camp in Nagrota Camping Ground.During the interaction with Hon’ble Governor Major Gen NK Airy discussed various issues with respect to NCC coverage in the State of J&K and apprised him about the preparations of State NCC Contingent participating in the Inter Directorate Republic Day Competitions in Delhi from 31 Dec 2018 to 29 Jan 2019. 109 NCC Cadets who are students of various educational institutions of the State have finally been selected to be part of Republic Day Camp contingent after undergoing a grueling selection process over a period of 30 days camp in Nagrota Camping Ground.
Later, the Governor interacted with Additional Director General, three Officers , 01 JCO and 20 NCC Cadets who are part of the 109 Cadets strong NCC Contingent which will be moving to National Capital Delhi for participating in the competitions. The Hon’ble Governor praised NCC Cadets and said that he was optimistic that the State NCC contingent would prove their mettle in Delhi.
Governor said that NCC plays an important role in inculcating discipline among the youth and prepares them to play a responsible role in the society. He complimented Major NK Airy, ADG, NCC J&K. Brig R G Patil, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ Srinagar and other officers and Staff for their contribution towards providing excellent training to NCC Cadets of the State thereby building their overall personalities.He complimented Major NK Airy, ADG, NCC J&K. A high tea was organized for the NCC Cadets at the Raj Bhawan where in the cadets interacted enthusiastically with the Hon’ble Governor. Maj Gen NK Airy, ADG, NCC J&K, apprised the Hon’ble Governor about the achievements of the NCC Cadets during the interaction. The Hon’ble Governor was highly impressed with the achievements of the Cadets and gave a financial grant of Rs. 50,000/- each to Cadet Shikhi Sambyal, who was earlier awarded the first prize in PAN India Essay Competition organized by Ministry of Water and sanitation on topic ‘ What can I do for clean India’, and Cadet Ronak Manzoor, who won Silver Medal in 5thAsian Squad (Martial Art) Championship at Thailand.
