JRL call strike on Jan 21 in parts of Srinagar, Jan 25, 27 in Kupwara
Srinagar, Jan 18: (UNI) The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a general strike in parts of Srinagar and Handwara and Kupwara on January 21 , 25 and 27 respectively.
A spokesman of the JRL, comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq and Mohammad Yaseen Malik, has called for a shut down at Gaw Kadal, Basant Bagh, Chota Bazar and Budshah Chowk in Srinagar on January 21 against the killing of over 50 people on this day in 1990 when they were coming out from a mosque.
Similarly, the JRL asked people of Handwara to observe strike on January 25 in Handwara and January 27 in Kupwara against civilians killings by security forces in 1990.
