Nanded, Jan 25: (UNI) With barely a day left for the 69th Republic Day to be celebrated, the district administration here has issued directives making an appeal to the citizens to strictly avoid the purchase of plastic-made flags.
After the function concludes, the plastic-made flags are left lying on the roads and elsewhere which amounts to contempt of the national flag hence the administration has stressed that such flags should not be displayed neither on this Republic day nor other such days of national and regional significance.
As per the Home Ministry’s directions, the directive has been sent to the District Information Officer,Assistant Director of Education,Additional Superintendent of Police,Zilla Parishad Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and the office bearers of educational institutions.
However, the plastic-made flags were seen being purchased here and no legal action was initiated by the administration.
Scheduled at 0915 hours, the Maharashtra Environment Minister Ramdas Kadam will hoist the tricolor at the Police Ground here to mark the Republic Day.
