Teenager burnt to death as fire breaks out in eatery near Vaishno Devi Bhawan
Jammu, Jan 31: (UNI) A teenager was charred to death while two others suffered burn injuries after a fire broke out near Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra town of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The fire broke out on Wednesday in a tin shed in the Bhawan area near the shrine due to which three workers of a food stall (Dhaba), who were using it as their accommodation were trapped,” police sources here said on Thursday.
They said that one Rajesh Singh (19), a resident of Devigarh village, was killed, while two others– Ravi Singh (18) and Sikander Singh(16) were rescued by Police, Fire and Emergency Services team.
The injured were hospitalised, they said and added that the workers were asleep when the fire broke out.
Police have taken cognisance started investigations to ascertain the cause of the fire.
