Baramulla, Feb 1: (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police arrested nine drug peddlers and recovered codeine phosphate in apple township of Sopore, a police spokesman said here on Friday evening.
He said a naka was established at Budden Sopore following information about the movement of drug peddlers. During the checking two vehicles were intercepted by the naka party.
He said during the searches of these vehicles police recovered 37 bottles of codeine phosphate and arrested nine drug peddlers and booked under relevant sections of the law.
The accused persons were identified as Abdul Kabir Mir, Shabir Ahmad Shalla, Azad Ahmad Mir, Basharat Ahmad Mir, Manzoor Ahmad Sofi, Maqsood Ahmad Bhat, Irfan Ahmad Shalla, Ishfaq Ahmad Shalla and Fayaz Ahmad Parray were arrested for drug supply offences.
