Murder of girl by militants horrifying, deserves condemnation: Omar
Srinagar, Feb 2: (UNI) Describing the murder of a 25-year-old girl by militants in Shopian night as horrifying, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister (CM) Omar Abdullah on Saturday said it deserves the strongest condemnation.
However, another former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti refused to comment on it when asked by the journalists in Jammu today.
The girl, identified as Ishrat Muneer, was shot dead by militants on Thursday in Shopian after her abduction from Pulwama. Later, the video was circulated on social media. Her bullet riddled body was recovered on Friday in Shopian.
Vice-president of the National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah, taking to twitter, said, “Horrific murder & deserves the strongest condemnation. There can be no place for such brutal acts in a civilised society & apologists for these murders are just as guilty as the perpetrators”.
According to J&K police, militants shot a woman, identified as Ishrat Muneer, and recorded the incident on video before circulating it on social media yesterday.
