Avoid whatsapp driven fake news cycle, senior police officer
Srinagar, Feb 15: (UNI) Rejecting reports about attack on n a Police Post (PP) in south Kashmir district of Shopian last night, a senior police officer said that there was no such attack and the news was totally false.
A private national news channel “ Times Now” had on Thursday night said that militants attacked PP Keegam in Shopian.
Taking to micro-blogging site twitter Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian Sandeep Choudhary said “ Kindly avoid whatsapp driven fake news cycle @TimesNow like the attack on Keegam PP in Shopian. No such attack took place. @JmuKmrPolice @KashmirPolice.
The tweet of Mr Choudhary was re-tweeted by police spokesman.
