Omar thanks PM for speaking about attack on Kashmiris in the country
Srinagar, Feb 23: (UNI) Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for speaking about attacks on Kashmiris in different parts of the country after Pulwama fidayeen attack that left 44 CRPF personnel killed, National Conference (NC) Vice president Omar Abdullah hoped that these attacks will stop.
Former Chief minister Omar had recently questioned the silence of PM on these attacks on Kashmiris, including students in different states in the country.
Taking to micro blogging site twitter Mr Omar said “ thank you @narendramodi Sahib. Aaj aap ne hamaray dil ki baat keh di”.
“ It’s been a more than a week since the terrible attack in Pulwama & more than a week that Kashmiris have been bearing the brunt of the public anger. Perhaps finally after PM @narendramodi Sb has spoken these forces targeting Kashmiris will stop in their tracks”.
He also re-tweeted a tweet of a newspaper which quoted PM as saying “ Our fight is against militancy and enemies of humanity. Our fight is for Kashmir not against Kashmir or Kashmiris. What happened to Kashmiri students in the last few days, such things should not happen in this country”.
Meanwhile, the NC vice president also re-tweeted a tweet of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh reading “ Kashmiris in Punjab can now call 181 for immediate response & action to any complaints of harassment. @PunjabPoliceInd has set up a special desk to provide them immediate help. I won’t let anyone trouble them as they are as much a part of India as Kashmir is”.
Earlier, during the day NC took out a protest march from office headquarter to Radio Kashmir, Srinagar, against attack on Kashmiris outside the valley.
