IGP Kashmir reviews security situation in Shopian
Srinagar, Mar 8: (UNI) Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir range, S P Pani on Friday reviewed the security situation in south Kashmir district of Shopian.
A police spokesperson said that Mr Pani on Friday visited district Shopian and chaired a security review meeting with the officers.
“Later, the IGP also interacted with the jawans at District Police Line (DPL) Shopian,” he said.
While addressing the gathering of jawans and officials at DPL, the IGP stressed on the officials and jawans to adopt people friendly attitude while disbursing their official duties.
He urged upon the officers to prioritize the redressal of grievances reported at Police Stations in a professional manner and to hold frequent public interactions.
The IGP Kashmir emphasized that technological advancement in police are aimed to usher more transparency and accountability in the functioning of police and stressed for adaptation of modern technology which is resulted oriented and people friendly. “Welfare measures initiated recently by the department were discussed besides rewards were also distributed among the officials,” the spokesperson said.
The IGP Kashmir also chaired a security review meeting with the officers of the district in which the security considerations of the area were discussed, he added.
