Omar, Mehbooba, Tarigami condemn Jammu grenade blast

Srinagar, Mar 7: (UNI) Two former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have condemned the grenade explosion at Jammu bus stand that left one civilian dead and about 27 others injured on Thursday.
Meanwhile, senior CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami condemning the attack, termed the incident as shameful.
“I condemn this act of terror in the strongest possible terms. My prayers for speedy recovery of those injured. The perpetrators are out there to inflict pain and divide us. Our unity has to be our tool to defeat them,” Ms Mehbooba, who is the president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
“My unequivocal condemnation of this attack. Prayers & best wishes for the injured for their swift & complete recovery,” Mr Abdullah, who is the Vice President of National Conference (NC), twitted.
“Tragic. May the deceased’s soul rest in peace. Another family irreversibly impacted by the scourge of terrorism & violence in J&K,” he added.
Mr Tarigami said the blast is an act of terror which is highly condemnable and shameful. “Such incidents are against humanity as targeting innocent civilians is barbaric. There are no words enough to condemn this barbaric act,” he said.
“The culprits must be identified and dealt under law. The Governor administration must also ensure best possible medical facilities to the injured,” he added.
