Srinagar, Mar 15: (UNI) Moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) chairman Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq on Friday said that they will continue to seek peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.
“New Delhi can’t intimidate us,” Mirwaiz said while addressing a Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid in downtown Srinagar.
“Is seeking peaceful resolution of Kashmir terrorism,” asked Mirwaiz, who has once again been summoned by National Investigation Agency (NIA) to its headquarters in New Delhi on March 18.
Mirwaiz alleged that since 1947 conspiracies were hatched against the people, the leadership and the pulpit of Jamia Masjid.
In an apparent referral to NIA, he said, “We are not going to bow down and Delhi can’t force us into submission by intimidating us.”
Friday prayers were offered in historic Jamia Masjid today after being disallowed for two weeks as a precautionary measure, to prevent any law and order problem.
Meanwhile, rejecting security concern and other apprehension of Mirwaiz, the NIA has directed him to appear before the probe agency at its headquarter in New Delhi on March 18 for questioning in connection with terror funding.
Earlier in reply to similar notice by NIA to appear on March 11 in New Delhi, Mirwaiz through his counsel had cited security concerns and asked that he be questioned in Srinagar. However, fresh notice was issued to Mirwaiz by the NIA, asking him to appear at its headquarter in New Delhi on March 18.
