Woman SPO killed by suspected militants in south Kashmir
Srinagar, Mar 16: (UNI) Suspected militants on Saturday killed a woman Special Police Officer (SPO) of J&K police in south Kashmir district of Shopian.
Official sources said that suspected militants fired at a woman SPO, identified as Kushboo, outside her residence in village Vehil in Shopian at around 1440 hrs on Saturday. “The injured was immediately taken to a hospital, where she succumbed,” they said.
They said security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers. This is for the first time that a woman police personnel was attacked in the valley in the last over a decade.
Meanwhile, former chief minister and National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the killing of lady SPO by gunmen in south Kashmir on Saturday.
