Kadapa, Mar 26: (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir former Chief Minister and MP Farooq Abdullah made a sensational allegation that YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met him few years ago and offered to give Rs 1500 crores to the Congress high command to make him Chief Minister of combined AP state.
Addressing an election meeting along with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Kadapa on Tuesday, Mr Farooq Abdullah said that Jagan Reddy approached him few years ago and expressed his readiness to give Rs 1500 crore to the Congress high command, if he was made Chief Minister of combined AP. He said he wondered from where he got that huge money. ?If people elect such a person the state will witness drastic conditions? he said.
Mr.Abdullah regretted that there was no protection to Muslims during Narendra Modi regime. He said that voting for Jagan Mohan Reddy means voting for Narendra Modi. He expressed surprise how Jagan Reddy supporting Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is opposing the construction of Polavaram project and releasing of water to the backward Rayalaseema region.
Mr.Abdullah alleged that the BJP is using the surgical strikes and Ram mandir issues for election mileage. He opined that the country should maintain good relations with their neighbouring countries.
Mr.Abdullah said that Naidu assured to implement minority sub plan for the benefit of Muslims. He said all the non-BJP parties supporting Telugu Desam party. The J&K former Chief Minister said that Sonia Gandhi also assured to accord Special Category Status to AP.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP government is implementing several programmes to protect the interests of Muslims. The Chief Minister assured to hike amount under Dulhan scheme to Rs one lakh from the existing Rs 50,000. He said the amount to be sanctioned for Muslim youth under foreign education scheme would be hiked from existing Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. He promised to construct Haj houses in Kurnool and Amaravati.
The Chief Minister said that honorarium to be paid to Imams would be increased to Rs 10,000 from existing Rs 5000 and Mouzams Rs 5000 from existing Rs 3000. Urdu officer would be appointed in all departments. The Chief Minister said that the Almaspet centre in Kadapa would be developed and renamed as Tippu Sultan Chowrasta.
