Baramulla, Mar 30: (UNI) A sub-inspector (SI) of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) committed suicide with his service weapons in this north Kashmir district, official sources said on Saturday.
They said panic gripped in town hall camp of ITBP at Kunzar Tangmarg in this district when firing shots were heard on Saturday morning. However, other personnel present in the camp rushed towards the area and found SI Chandar Mani in a pool of blood. The SI has used his service weapon to take this extreme step, they said adding police has registered a case and initiated proceedings.
It was not immediately clear why he committed suicide, they added.
Despite introducing Yoga and Art of Living , trend of committing suicide among the security forces has not stopped.
