Jammu, Apr 1: (UNI) A civilian was injured as Pakistani army yet again on Monday violated the ceasefire by targeting forward posts and villages along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.
They said that the mortar shelling and small arms firing from across the border started in Shahpur Kerni sector this morning at around 0745 hours.
“Pakistani Army initiated the unprovoked ceasefire violation, prompting befitting retaliation by the Indian Army,” he added and said that the cross-border firing between the two sides was continuing when last reports were received.
There was no report of any casualty on the Indian side, they said adding that but a civilian identified as Mohammad Sharief of Guntrian, Mendhar suffered injuries in the cross border firing.
On Sunday Pakistan violated the Ceasefire in Nowshera sector of Rajouri and on Saturday evening also Pakistan fired unprovoked on LoC in Mankote and Krishna Ghati sectors of Poonch.
