Srinagar, May 17: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday refuted reports that a Bhaderwah youth was killed by cow vigilantes, saying that so far neither the accused has been identified nor the motto of the murder has been known.
A police spokesperson said that some media channels are wrongly reporting murder of a person in Bhaderwah as incident of alleged killing by Cow Vigilantes. “Such irresponsible reporting is strongly rebutted as no such info has been confirmed during investigation so far. Neither the accused is identified nor the motto of killing is known so far,” he said.
He said such reporting which has got law and order implications is rebutted.
A civilian was on Thursday shot dead and another injured by an armed group in the Chenab Valley’s Bhaderwah district, sparking violent protests amid curfew for the second successive day in the communally-sensitive area.
