Barring parts of south- north, life returns to normal in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 18: Barring parts of south and north, life returned to normal on Saturday in the Kashmir valley after remaining paralyed on Friday due to strike called by separatists against the civilian and militant killings during the Holy month of Ramadhan.
Shops and business establishments reopened this morning and traffic was plying on all routes in summer capital, Srinagar. However, government offices, educational institutions and banks remained closed on account of holiday.
Reports of normalcy were also reported from elsewhere in the valley.
However, life remained affected in Anantnag, where security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) this morning.
Life also remained paralysed in Pulwama , where three militants were killed by security forces in an encounter which ensued during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) today.
Business and other activities also remained affected in Sopore, where security forces launched CASO this morning.
