2 policeman injured in grenade attack by militants in Sopore

Srinagar, Jun 7: Two policemen, including a Sub Inspector (SI), were injured in a grenade attack by militants in the apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Friday.
A police official said that militants hurled a grenade at a Police Station in Sopore, resulting in injuries to a SI and a constable. “The injured were immediately taken to a hospital,” he said.
They said the militants managed to escape from the spot during the chaos created due to the explosion.
“Additional security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers,” they said, adding checkpoints have been established at various places within 5 km radius of the attacked site.
