Srinagar, Jun 7: Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday arrested seven gamblers and recovered stake money in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, a police spokesman said here this evening.
He said acting tough against social crimes, police in Bandipora pursuing a complaint of gambling, raided a gambling site at Shadipora during which seven gamblers were arrested. Police also seized playing cards and stake money of Rs 4940 from the gamblers.
He said a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Sumbal.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law.
Community members are requested to pass information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood to the local police units.
