Baramulla, Jun 11: Five persons, including three members of a family, were taken ill after consuming poisonous morning tea in this north Kashmir district , official sources said on Tuesday.
They said an elderly woman during preparing morning tea in a house at Kunzar, Tangmarg, in Baramulla inadvertently put some poisonous substance in it.
However, immediately after the woman, her husband, son and two neighbours consumed tea they fell ill. All the five identified as Abdul Gani Sofi, his wife Saja and their son Farooq Ahmad Sofi, Ghulam Qadir Waza son of Ghulam Mohd Waza and Ghulam Mohammad Wani, all residents of Itkoo Dobiwan were rushed to local hospital from where they were referred to JVC, Bemina in Srinagar for specialized treatment.
