Srinagar, July 2: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Tuesday emphasized that the educational interest of the entire student community should be promoted and safeguarded by adoption of various innovative and reformative measures in the state.
An official spokesperson said that Prof Mushtaq A Siddiqi, Vice Chancellor, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) met Mr Malik, who is the Chancellor of the University, at Raj Bhavan today.
Prof Siddiqi briefed the Governor about various issues relating to the academic and administrative importance and the initiatives undertaken by the University to develop it as a centre of quality teaching and research activities.
The Governor emphasized that the educational interest of the entire student community should be promoted and safeguarded by adoption of various innovative and reformative measures.
Mr Malik congratulated the IUST for being included by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Switzerland in its global project on Reassessment of World Swallowtail Butterflies.
