Anantnag, Jul 9: A minor boy died due to drowning in a water body in south Kashmir district of Shopian on Monday evening, officials sources said on Tuesday.
They said a 6-year-old Jibran Mudasir son of Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Arkhera area of Imam Sahib Shopian suddenly slipped and fell into a steam near his home in Shopian last evening. However, people present in the area immediately jumped into stream but could not save Jibran.
Later after a long struggle Jibran was taken out from the stream and rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
