Baramulla, Jul 13: At least 15 shops were gutted in a devastating fire at world famous tourist destination of Gulmarg, about 55 km from here in this north Kashmir, official sources said.
They said fire broke out in the main market at Gulmarg on Saturday. However, before the fire tenders could reach the site, fire spread to majority shops in the market. Fire tenders were rushed from different parts of the district, they said adding fire was brought under control after several hours.
An official of Fire and Emergency Department (F&ED) official said the loss could be about Rs 30 lakhs. However, he said 15 shops in the market were saved.
