Drug peddler arrested with Hashish in central Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 29: A drug peddler was on Monday arrested alongwith Hashish at Charar-e-Sharief in central Kashmir district of Badgam, a police spokesman said here today.
He said continuing its crackdown against drug menace, Budgam police recovers Hashish at Cheraresharief and arrested drug peddler.
He said on a tip off police established a naka checking at Charar-e-Sharief. During the operation a drug peddler identified as Mohammad Ayub Mir, son of Abdul Gani Mir, resident of Trachabal, Charar-e-Sharie in Badgam was arrested.
He said 700 grams of hashish was recovered from his possession.
He said case FIR Number 53/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and initiated investigation in the matter.
“Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law,” he added.
“Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace,” said police spokesman in a statement.
